Gone are the cobwebs and disrepair; the firehouse is a state-of-the-art ghost-hunting operation, complete with advanced tech overseen by the brilliant Podcast (Celeste O’Connor) and her tech-savvy crew.
The film’s central conflict revolves around a mysterious artifact unearthed during a routine construction project.
This artifact, later identified as the “Stygian Crystal,” possesses the power to manipulate the weather.
In the wrong hands, it could plunge the city into a perpetual winter.
The villain of the piece, Rowan North (Kumail Nanjiani), is a disgruntled former colleague of Egon Spengler who seeks to harness the crystal’s power for his own twisted agenda.
As the city experiences increasingly erratic weather patterns, punctuated by ghostly manifestations connected to the crystal, the pressure mounts on the ghostbusters.
Phoebe, eager to prove herself, stumbles upon clues left by her grandfather that point to the crystal’s true nature.
Meanwhile, Trevor struggles to balance his single-dad duties with the escalating ghost crisis.
