Luckily, a handsome lifeguard named Blake rushes to her rescue. As Waverly recovers from the shock, a spark ignites between her and Blake.
Embarrassed by her near-drowning experience, Waverly decides to confront her fear of water. Blake, a skilled swimmer with a gentle demeanor, offers to be her instructor.
Their swimming lessons become more than just conquering the waves; they become a gateway to a blossoming romance.
As Waverly spends time with Blake, she starts to question the path her parents meticulously planned for her.
The carefree life of Tofino, with its emphasis on connection and enjoying the moment, stands in stark contrast to the competitive, goal-oriented world she’s used to.
However, their budding romance isn’t without its challenges. Waverly grapples with the guilt of disappointing her parents and the uncertainty of her future career path.
Blake, too, carries his own burdens.
The film hints at a past tragedy that has left him emotionally guarded. As they navigate these obstacles and delve deeper into their feelings, Waverly and Blake must decide if their summer fling can blossom into something more substantial.
