Alegre, together with her on-the-run fellows, desperately seeks refuge.
Their escape takes them through desolate landscapes, constantly under the watchful eye of drones and ruthless patrols.
Exhausted and desperate, they stumble upon a seemingly abandoned house—a potential safe haven—before continuing their perilous journey.
Relief quickly curdles into dread as they settle into the dark, brooding structure.
The house, it turns out, harbors a sinister history, one that awakens a malevolent entity.
As the narrative unfolds, the film cleverly switches gears. The initial dystopian thriller morphs into a supernatural horror, with the house itself becoming a character.
The entity that resides within is not a faceless ghost but the vengeful spirit of a long-dead white supremacist, a member of the Ku Klux Klan.
This spectral manifestation preys on the vulnerabilities of each character, exploiting their fears and prejudices.
For Ron, the entity becomes a seductive manipulator, whispering justifications for the regime’s actions and fueling racial hatred.
Memories and anxieties surface, blurring the lines between reality and the entity’s twisted influence.
Alegre, on the other hand, becomes a symbol of resistance, fiercely clinging to her ideals even as the entity tries to break her spirit.
