The Plot
Perfect Days is a narrative-style Japanese film that is slow-burning, melancholic, and yet a strangely beautiful portrait of Hirayama (Koji Yakusho), who is an unassuming janitor in Tokyo.

This becomes the soundtrack to his daily routine—a meticulously crafted symphony of cleaning high-end public restrooms in the bustling Shibuya district.
Hirayama is a man of quiet dignity. His movements are deliberate, and his voice is a gentle murmur.
Yet, beneath the surface lies a wellspring of unspoken stories. We see them in the way his eyes linger on a stray flower blooming amidst the urban sprawl, or in how he absorbs the vibrant energy of the city he cleans unseen.
Hirayama’s days are a testament to the beauty found in routine. Each spotless toilet, each gleaming chrome fixture, becomes a testament to his dedication.
He finds solace in solitude, a meditative space where the city’s chaos melts away. His world is one of fleeting interactions—a quick nod to a fellow janitor, a polite exchange with a grateful patron. These moments, though brief, hint at a hidden warmth within Hirayama.
The film unfolds like a series of vignettes, each one adding a subtle brushstroke to Hirayama’s portrait.
We then meet Natsuko (Miki Maya), a young woman struggling to find her place in the city.
Hirayama observes her struggles with quiet empathy, offering a silent act of kindness that speaks volumes about his character. There’s also the enigmatic delivery man (Masaki Okada), whose brief encounters with Hirayama hint at a shared past, one shrouded in mystery.
Yet, there’s a sense of loneliness amidst the city’s energy, a reflection perhaps of Hirayama’s own solitary existence.

We will simplify things here and manage to wrap things up in no more than three steps.
Step 1: Download your subtitle from our website or elsewhere and extract it if it is in zip format. Then launch your VLC player, locate your video, and start playing it.
Step 2: Tap on the screen to reveal playback controls. Then find a subtitle icon (🗨) and tap on it.

Step 2: Open your video player and add your video, or open your video on the VLC player and play it.
Step 3: In the navigation menu, arranged horizontally, click on “Subtitle,” then “Add Subtitle File,” and navigate to your subtitle location and click on it to load it.
